Why Annual Service is so Important
Getting your annual service done on your basement installations is an important part of maintenance. If you leave your installations unattended, there are many problems that can occur that will cause the machines to work slower and become inefficient. For example, our crew went to do service on a house recently. This particular customer had not been serviced since the initial install of the Sedona SaniDry XP Dehumidifier, which was nearly three years ago. As a result, the dehumidifier they owned was extremely clogged. Because of this, all of the components were working extra hard to keep the basement dehumidified, which in turn caused more heat to be produced internally. The extra internalized heat was getting blown out as hot air into the space causing it to be much warmer than normal.
Luckily, the only issue was that the filter was clogged, so it just needed to be replaced with a new filter. The replacement of the filter is a quick and easy process, and it was caught in time before any real damage could have happened to their XP unit. However, if the customer had kept up to date with his services, this issue could have been avoided altogether. Pictured below on the left is the new filter, and on the right is the old filter:
The new filter is pictured on the left, and the old clogged filter is on the right. There is a visible difference between these two filters.
