You're Breathing Basement Air

Believe it or not, you're breathing air that was in your basement in the main floor of your home, this is because the air that enters your basement is drawn upward into the first and second floor of your home. The reason this happens is from something called the Stack Effect that creates airflow in your home from bottom to top, therefore if there are mold spores in your basement then you have mold spores in your air on your main floor and even second floor. Take a second and go in your basement and try this test, in the winter go in your basement and open a window or door a little bit. Do you feel the cold air forcibly pushing itself into your basement? Now go back upstairs and open a window a little bit, do you feel the air pushing itself in? The answer here is no because the warm air is trying to escape out that window now. By creating a healthy basement environment you're ensuring your air stays clean and healthy throughout your entire house.
