In addition to the major project, I had two issues that needed to be addressed and the two people installing my system were not aware of the issues. I told them that the salesperson, Frank, had said that they were to be done and they completed both projects to my satisfaction.
I went to google Scholar and researched Crawl Spaces. A number of research projects were done for the US Government in the Civil Engineering section. those projects detailed a series of steps that needed to be done to create a healthy and dry crawl space under your home. It is clear to me that the owner of "Healthy Basement Systems" in Medford had read and understood those reports and the recommendations of the Civil Engineers who did the research project. They followed through with all the recommendations made. They sealed my crawl space (as recommended by the Government Engineers) and created a system, using dehumidifiers and pumps that made the crawl space beautiful, dry and healthy. In the past, the crawl space was ugly, dirty, damp (and wet), and promoted mold and dry rot. The dry rot had become so bad that the floors above bounced and the main girder holding up the main floor of the house had cracked. The crawlspace is now almost livable as it is clean, dry, and pleasant. the two workers Steve W. and Vinny B. were pleasant and competent. they knew their jobs well and did them efficiently. There were two parts of the job that were not typical of a regular installation. they were not aware of those aspects of the project but when I told them that both needed to be completed they completed both without any argument or hard feelings. they were both competent and professional about their work. It is too soon to know how well this project will work in the long run but the way it looks and feels to this homeowner I am confident that the project will protect me in the long run.
