Riverhead, NY Basement Waterproofed

Challenge

The customer had water seepage in her basement from time to time, but after a particularly heavy rain she suddenly had two inches of water in her basement! She decided it was time to waterproof her basement, and called Healthy Basement Systems for an estimate. Systems Designer Andrew Bouchard developed the perfect system to waterproof the basement. and keep it dry.

The client also asked if we might also be able to help her obtain financing for this project.

Solution

First, we waterproofed the basement floor. We installed WaterGuard around the entire outer perimeter of the basement floor, with two WaterGuard Ports placed strategically so the homeowner can check the WaterGuard from time to time to ensure water can still flow freely and is not blocked. We then installed trench drains in smaller spaces within the basement in areas that also need drainage, such as under the stairs and along interior walls; for instance, those where the SuperSump was to be installed next to the washer and dryer. We then installed the SuperSump pump to drain all the water out of the basement and out of the home, and installed an Ice Guard and a LawnScape to direct that water away from the house, in any kind of weather conditions.

Finally, we covered the walls with our beautiful. clean white CleanSpace vapor barrier, which helps control high humidity, provides a bit more insulation on the walls, and most important, prevents the growth of mold and mildew.

We assisted the client with with financing the project as well.

The customer now has a dry, clean basement with sparkling white vinyl vapor barrier walls. The home's basement is now, and will remain, dry and healthy, and has a much nicer appearance. With a dry. healthy basement, the family will never suffer from dust, mold, or mildew allergies.

The client is delighted with the results! She was especially happy with our Written Guarantee, which guarantees our products for the life of the home, and transfers to a new owner if the home is ever sold.
