Waterproofing for a Finished Basement in Southampton, NY
Challenge
This customer's home was flooding with seepage anytime it rained from under a wall in their basement. The most frustrating part about their situation was that their basement had been completely finished. As you can see from the first photo, they were using towels to hold back the water seepage from traveling around the floor.
Solution
As soon as the distressed homeowner gave us a call, we were able to send out our Director of Technical Design, Ian Silvers, to go and evaluate the issue. He was able to suggest the best solution that allowed them to still enjoy their finished basement after the project was completed.
Our production crew came in and removed the sheetrock and studs to install CleanSpace on the walls to direct the water down into the drainage system. This will prevent future water leakage and lock out moisture. The WaterGuard perimeter waterproofing system and a SuperSump with Battery Back-Up unit were also installed. The walls were refinished using Everlast wall panels that are water resistant, inorganic, and do not support mold growth. The final process was to fabricate a closet to house the sump pump system for a nicer cosmetic appearance for their refinished and now waterproofed basement.
