Crawlspace Insulation in Bayport
Challenge
A home in Bayport, NY had a dirty, musty and moldy crawlspace underneath it, creating dangerous and unclean air in the home. The crawlspace had damp insulation in the ceiling, causing high humidity levels that led to mold growth. This mold was harmful to everyone that entered the home. Additionally, the pump system in the crawlspace was old and didn't work efficiently, which caused the crawlspace to have water damage and flooding issues. The homeowner asked Healthy Basement Systems to repair the crawlspace, waterproof it and fix the mold and humidity issues.
Solution
Led by our hardworking foreman Dave, the Healthy Basement Systems production team worked tirelessly to solve the homeowner's problem. First, the team needed to clean the crawlspace, by leveling the dirt and removing all debris inside. They then laid down the CleanSpace Drainage Matting, a crucial piece of waterproofing equipment, which allows water to drain and keeps the crawlspace dry. Next, the crew installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier system, which insulates the crawlspace, waterproofs it and gives it a fresh, clean glow. The next step was to repair the crawlspace's old pump system, replacing it with our Smart Sump sump pump system which allows water to be pumped from the crawlspace and keeps it permanently dry. CleanStart Plus was sprayed in the crawlspace for mold remediation, and our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier was place inside to control the humidity level and prevent future mold growth. By the end of the job, the crawlspace was mold-free, waterproofed, insulated, clean and as beautiful as a crawlspace can be! Healthy Basement Systems successfully repaired the crawlspace and created a safe environment for the homeowner.
