Town Houses Protected from Fumes in Port Jefferson, NY with CleanSpace
Challenge
The Board of Health needed a vapor barrier system and venting system installed below the slab of new construction Town Houses. They wanted this installed to eradicate any possible fumes from a plume 30 miles away. Several companies they called were not able to put a system together and made it seem like it would be quite costly. The builder then called Healthy Basement Systems for advice.
Solution
We designed the vent system with our E-Z Flow piping around the perimeter under ground. Then, Drainage Matting was installed on top of that and sealed. Finally, the CleanSpace vapor barrier covered the entire perimeter and was sealed with a low VOC caulking at the walls and footing. This not only passed the testing but was significantly less costly than what the other companies had proposed.
