SmartJack Installation in Crawl Space

Challenge

This Crawl Space in Old Westbury, NY had many problems with it that were endangering the family members living inside the home. There was mold, wetness and humidity within the crawl space. Furthermore, the crawl space foundation had been sagging for quite some time and became uneven. It was obvious to this family that something needed to be done or else conditions would just continue to worsen. They didn't want the crawl space foundation to continue to sag and result in injury, or for their family to continue inhaling the mold.

Solution

Our team entered the home and got to work right away. It was a big job and there were many different factors that would result in securing and fixing the issues. First, the production team used CleanStart Plus to safely remove the harmful mold and mold spores from the crawl space area. After the entire home was free from mold, they got to work on waterproofing the crawl space. SilverGlo was placed on the walls and CleanSpace on the floors. Both have vapor barriers and protect the crawl space from water seepage and leaks. In addition to this, a smart sump and ultra sump were installed. The purpose of the sump pump is to collect any water that builds up and safely remove the water from the homes foundation. No water in the crawl space means there is a much less likely chance of mold returning. The family also got the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to make sure the crawl space does not get too humid again and create mold.

After the crawl space was successfully waterproofed, the team installed SmartJacks to hold up the sagging foundation issues. SmartJacks create a permanent solution by holding up the crawl space and fix the sagging to basically brand new. Without the SmartJack installation, the crawl space would have continued to sag and lower and would've eventually given out. Now the crawl space is stabilized and will remain this way for the foreseeable future.
