Mr. and Mrs.W lived in the house for 17 years but now, after long consideration, they finally decided that they'd like to move to Florida. Before the home was put on the market, an inspector was brought in to evaluate if there's any issues with the house. During the inspeciton it was discovered that the basement had 68% relative humidity (that's very high for the month of November), there was some standing water that sipped through a crack in the wall and due to all the moisture in the air the main girder was soft. These problems caused the home to sag. Upstairs floors were out of level, some doors were opening and closing too tightly, and in the main hallway a slight gap could be seen between where the floor meets the baseboard.

It became obvious that we had to address the high humidity problem, fix the crack, replace the old, rusted supports and install an alternative to the main girder that wouldn't rot.

We ended up installing two power beams going parallel to the main girder, with SmartJack - adjustible steel supports. The Healthy Basement Systems team was actually able to move the center of the house (that sagged) back into place by roughtly 5/8"s. The crack was sealed with our patented FlexiSpan, which seals the crack and reliefs the pressure by allowing the water to flow under the house. The humiditiy in the entire basement was brought down to 30% (to dry out the wood) within less than an hour after installing the SaniDry Sedona.

The inspector was called in, the house was on the market within the same month. Only a month and a half later they found a buyer and were able to close on January. The Healthy Basement Systems warranty is for life of the home and is transferable to the next owner. The work that was done and the warranty was a strong selling point and the reason why the buyer felt confident with the purchase.

Mr.C had been living in his home for 24 years and is now looking to move. Now he realized that to sell the house he has certain steps that would need to be taken to prepate everything. Right then and there Eric was able to determine that the water was coming in due to the hydrostatic pressure from between the wall and the floor and proposed a solution. The place where the water was coming from actually happened to also be the lowest point in the basement which really played well in our favor. We were able to install the sump pump just in that area which was taking all the water in. We also killed all the mold, hepa vac'd the floor joists and the subfloor, as well as filtered the air from any remaining mold spores.
